Menopause

The average age of the perimenopause (or menopause transition) is 46. This is the time at which symptoms are most pronounced, due to fluctuating hormone levels. The transition and beyond, can be managed by hormone replacement therapy, depending upon an individualised risk assessment. There are other ways of supporting the menopause transition including non-hormonal medication, cognitive behavioural therapy and lifestyle changes eg yoga/pilates/dietary changes.
